Collaborative online network to help support and grow global community of Women in BIM

Women in BIM (WIB) has launched its new website to better demonstrate the aims of the global online community, who it is for, and how it is playing an important part in the digitalisation of the global built environment.

The aim of WIB is to support women in BIM-related roles with the intention of providing support and guidance to enhance the education and learning opportunities needed to encourage more women to select a career within the AEC industry.

The group was created in 2012 by Rebecca De Cicco, director of digital construction consultancy and specialist training provider Digital Node, and AEC Magazine contributor.

The community now has 1,000+ members, spanning 50 countries, and hosts international events.

WIB also includes a Mentor Scheme that is designed to help members grow personal and professional skills and encourage them to enter into BIM and digital-related roles in the future.

Women in BIM membership is completely free. Full WIB Members get access to the full WIB Members Directory to connect with fellow members personally.

Members also have an opportunity to submit news, event listings, industry reports and papers to be published on the WIB website and in the WIB Resource area.
